Three A-10 Players Named To The Division I Northeast All-Region Team

2007 AVCA Division I All-Region Teams

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Dayton senior outside hitter Jamie-Lee Richards and teammate junior setter Erin Schroeder join Xavier senior middle blocker Jill Quayle on the 2007 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division I Northeast All-Region Team. The three are now eligible for AVCA All-American honors.

Richards helped the Flyers to their best-ever finish with a 33-2 final mark and a program-best ranking of No. 12 during the season. She was named the A-10 Championship MOP after leading the team to its fourth A-10 title in five years and was the leader on offense with a team-best 3.91 kills per game and 4.69 points per game. She finished her career with 1,207 career kills, which ranks ninth all-time at Dayton.

Schroeder anchored the Dayton offense averaging 12.01 assists per game, which ranked second overall in the A-10. She earned second-team All-Conference honors and was named to the A-10 Championship All-Tournament team. She is currently fourth all-time at Dayton in assists with 3,060 career assists.

Quayle, the 2007 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, finished the season as the league leader in hitting percentage (.386) and in blocks with 1.28 per game. She ended her career at Xavier in first place all-time in block assists for a career (442) and second all-time in hitting percentage for a career (.330). Quayle's .386 hitting percentage for 2007 is tied for first place in Xavier program history for a season. She helped her team to its second NCAA Championship appearance and first-ever at-large bid.

Junior middle blocker Bethany Akerhielm of Dayton and Saint Louis teammates Suton Lasater, a senior middle blocker, and Whitney Roth, a sophomore setter, were named to the Honorable Mention Northeast All-Region team.
