Two Charlotte Golfers Named GCAA All-America

NORMAN, Okla. - Charlotte senior Jonas Enander Hedin and sophomore Corey Nagy earned third-team and honorable mention PING All-America honors, respectively, as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Enander Hedin is one of five finalists for the Byron Nelson Award (top college senior) and was among the top 20 finalists for the Hogan and Nicklaus National Player of the Year Awards.He was named the 2008 A-10 Golf Student-Athlete of the Year and is a three-time All-Atlantic 10 performer after finishing third in this year's A-10 Championship. He has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2008 Palmer Cup, The Ryder-Cup-style event pitting the top collegians from the US against their European counterparts.

Nagy, a two-time honorable mention All-American, earned freshman All-America honors last season and paced the 49ers at the NCAA Championship this season finishing tied for 16th overall. He was named a first-team All-Atlantic 10 honoree the past two seasons and was the 2007 A-10 Rookie of the Year. After finishing third as a rookie, he was the individual runner-up at the 2008 A-10 Championship.
