Charlotte's Green Named GCAA's Division I South Region Coach of the Year

Charlotte, N.C. - Eaton Golf Pride Regional Coaches of the Year for Division I have been announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America.

Charlotte 49ers fifth-year coach Jamie Green was named the South Region Coach of the Year. Green led Charlotte to its third straight Atlantic 10 title and its fourth straight NCAA Tournament appearance. In addition, the 49ers rose to become the consensus #1-ranked team in the country after winning four straight stroke-play events in the fall.

Along the way, the 49ers have broken single-season records for team and individual stroke average and have advanced to the 30-team NCAA Championships for the third straight year. Only nine teams in the country have reached the NCAA Finals in each of the last three years.

The 49ers were ranekd sixth in the nation in the final GCAA Golf World Coaches' poll and are ranked sixth in the nation by Golfstat and eighth in the nation by Golfweek entering this week's NCAA Championships.

Green is a three-time A-10 Coach of the Year.

The nine regional coaches are also candidates for the Eaton Golf Pride National Coach of the Year, which will be announced following the NCAA Division I National Championships at Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex Kampen Course in West Lafayette, Ind.
