TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Duquesne senior Tom Slosky placed 199th and graduate student Rachel Papin of La Salle finished 115th at the 2007 NCAA Cross Country Championships on Monday at Indiana State.
Slosky finished the 10K race in a time 32:01.0, which placed 199th in a field of 250 runners. The Brackenridge, Pa., native represented the Atlantic 10 as the individual champion in 2007.
Slosky, a two-time NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship participant in the steeplechase, is the first Duquesne cross country runner to compete at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
Papin placed 115th in a field of 253 competitors with a time of 21:40.8 in the 6k race. The three-time Atlantic 10 champion from Philadelphia, Pa., was a four-time All-Conference selection and three-time individual champion.
The Explorers captured their fourth straight Conference title in 2007, with Papin pacing the team with a second-place finish. This marked Papin's second appearance in as many years at the NCAA Cross Country Championships.
