Richmond Women, UMass Men Tabbed To Win A-10 Titles

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Massachusetts and Richmond have been selected to win the 2007-08 Atlantic 10 Men's & Women's Swimming & Diving Championships in voting conducted by the league's head coaches.

The University of Massachusetts men and University of Richmond women were each crowned Conference champions in 2007. The Minutemen captured their sixth title in seven years with 733 points, edging out St. Bonaventure's total of 510 points. The Spiders clinched their sixth straight title with 737 points, beating out second place Massachusetts' total of 453.

Returning for the Richmond women is senior Jessica Witt, who was among the Spiders' leaders last season, earning All-America honors in the 400-yard individual medley.
