Witt Women's Swimming & Diving Most Outstanding Performer
Jessica Witt - Richmond
Senior, Fullerton, Calif./Sunny Hills HS

Witt earned her second A-10 Most Outstanding Performer honor after leading the Spiders to their seventh consecutive league crown...won the 200-yard butterfly (2:02.80), 400-yard individual medley (4:22.80) and 500-yard freestyle (4:54.75) events...her time in the 400-yard individual medley was an NCAA "B" cut time...also swam a leg of the winning 200-yard medley (1:44.02), 400-yard medley (3:46.54) and 800-yard freestyle (7:28.97) relays.

Upperco Women's Swimming & Diving Most Outstanding Diver
Karen Upperco - Massachusetts
Junior, Titusville, N.J./Hopewell Valley HS

Upperco won a gold and a silver medal and earned Most Outstanding Diver honors at the 2008 A-10 Championship...captured the one-meter event with a Championship-record total of 520.60...finished runner-up in the three-meter competition (563.95)...UMass finished fourth in the ten-team field.

Peglar Women's Swimming & Diving Most Outstanding Rookie
Kari Peglar - Xavier
Freshman, Chesterfield, Mo./Lafayette HS

Peglar became the first-ever Xavier swimmer to garner Most Outstanding Rookie honors after leading the Musketeers to a program-best second-place finish at the 2008 Championship...won the 1,650-yard freestyle (17:05.10) and placed second in the 500-yard freestyle (4:56.69)...established school records in both events...also swam a leg of the 800-yard freestyle relay that finished third with a program-best time of 7:34.46.


Zenk Men's Swimming & Diving Most Outstanding Performer
David Zenk - George Washington
Junior, St. Louis, Mo./St. Louis Country Day School

Zenk won three individual events to earn Most Outstanding Performer honors at the 2008 A-10 Championships (Feb. 20-23)...captured gold in the 200-yard backstroke (1:47.15), the 200-yard individual medley (1:50.50) and 400-yard individual medley (3:56.36)...earns his second Most Outstanding Performer award in three seasons.

rappe Men's Swimming & Diving Most Outstanding Diver
RJ Rappe - Massachusetts
Senior, Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS

Rappe garnered Most Outstanding Diver honors at the A-10 Championships after eclipsing his previous Conference record in the one-meter diving competition with a score of 635.90...also won the three-meter event with a record total of 678.55...UMass claimed its seventh A-10 crown in eight seasons.

 

LeBlanc Men's Swimming & Diving Most Outstanding Rookie
Edward LeBlanc - Duquesne
Freshman, Raleigh, N.C./William G. Enloe HS

LeBlanc won a pair of individual events and was a part of two school record-setting relays en route to being named the Most Outstanding Rookie of the 2008 A-10 Championship...won the 200-yard freestyle (1:39.26) and 500-yard freestyle (4:29.73) events and swam a leg on the winning 200-yard freestyle (1:22.72) and 800-yard freestyle (6:42.51) relays.
